Florence Jaccottet is Head of the Music and Movement Department and Director of the Dalcroze professional training at the Geneva Haute école de musique (HEM) where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Movement and a Master of Arts in Jaques-Dalcroze Pedagogy. She holds the Diplôme supérieur in Dalcroze Eurhythmics from the Geneva Institut Jaques-Dalcroze. Throughout her studies, she won several awards for the quality of her work: the Pedagogy Prize Marguerite Croptier Lange; the Jaques Dalcroze Institute Prize; the Prize for excellence in Solfège teaching; and the Prize of the Alethéia Foundation for her creation Entrée en matières presented in 2017 with the percussionist Michael Chapon.
In addition to teaching Jaques-Dalcroze rhythmics to children, adults and professional musicians, Florence Jaccottet's work revolves around her passion for dance, the various forms of which she has been experimenting with for many years. At the heart of her artistic research, the expression of rhythm and the musicality of movement make her dance a singular contemporary language which has earned her invitations to present both her artistic performances and the techniques she develops for future rhythmicians in Switzerland, Japan and South Korea.
Dr Louise Mathieu is a Retired Professor of the Faculty of Music of Université Laval in Quebec, Canada, where she taught from 1976 to 2016. Director of Studies of the Dalcroze Society of Canada, she also acts as President of the Collège of the Institute Jaques-Dalcroze (Geneva) and member of the International Conference of Dalcroze Studies. Besides a musical background (Bachelor of Music Education and Bachelor of Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Université Laval, Quebec; Dalcroze Diplôme supérieur, Institut Jaques- Dalcroze, Geneva; Doctor of Arts, New York University, New York), her experience includes studies in acting, Feldenkrais and Gerda Alexander body awareness. She has directed and choreographed staged works, conducted choirs and instrumental ensembles and composed children's songs. A frequent lecturer and workshop leader in Canada, Europe, Asia and USA, Dr Mathieu also supervises Music Education Research projects.
Françoise Lombard is a pianist, composer and pedagogue, a graduate of the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze (Diplôme Supérieur) and the Geneva Conservatory (teaching diploma in piano, solfege and harmony), Françoise Lombard first trained Dalcroze teachers in Bienne (Switzerland). She then undertook training in Ostéophonie (Pédagogie de l’Écoute, méthode François Louche), a discipline she teaches in Europe and Quebec to artists, teachers, educators and therapists. She is frequently invited to lead Dalcroze workshops worldwide.
Cheng-Feng Lin currently serves as the co-director of studies for Dalcroze Canada. He received his Dalcroze training at the Longy School of music in Boston, USA, where he obtained a Master's degree in music (specializing in Dalcroze), and at l'Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, Switzerland, where he received the Diplôme Supérieur. Frequently invited to give master classes in Canada, the United States and Asia, he teaches piano at the local community music schools in the Toronto area.
